I’ve started to devote the majority of my free time to art and the benefits have been so rewarding. Art gets my mind off things. It filters out those thoughts that cause an unsteady hand. It eases all the internal tension and smooths my arches of breathing. If it weren’t for the values and forms, I’d lose myself into the papers texture, becoming the rough lifts and torn edges. But here I am after a dose of color and my mind feels a little lighter. I can’t say it relieves all sour thoughts but it does dull out the majority of them. So when I say art keeps me sane, it really does do just that. “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
